Senior Accountant

They are looking for an accurate Senior Accountant, who thrives in a cooperative and dynamic environment. The European office of the Company consists of multiple legal entities all managed from their European headquarters. In this crucial role, you will maintain the general ledgers for these different entities in a timely, accurate and complete manner. Next to this, you will be responsible for different tasks like VAT and intrastat declarations, process improvements, contribution to internal and external audits and reporting. With your eye for detail, you make sure that this is all done in accordance with the company policies and local legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities- Review and analyze general ledger accounts and transactions, including accounts related to their production activities (cost accounting)
- Prepare, coordinate and review monthly and quarterly account reconciliations
- Prepare, check and post journal entries for the monthly financial closing
- Support the Manufacturing team in analyzing manufacturing variances, cost prices, and over/under absorption
- Check and post vendor invoices and expense reports
- Fixed assets management
- Work on audit-related tasks, internal and external
- Prepare VAT and Intrastat returns
- Identify opportunities for improvement in processes, procedures and/or systems within own team and/or work area
- Comply with the financial and company's quality regulations and quality standards
- Understand and comply with the rules, policies and standards of the organization
- Work on special projects assigned by management
- Bachelor’s degree in Financial Accounting
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a similar position
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Experience in accounting
- Experience with SAP is preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Knowledge of other European languages is preferred
- Work experience in an international environment is preferred
