I am writing you with regard to the Associate Coordinator vacancy on the Every Mother Knows website. I am confident that my knowledge, work experience, creativity, and flexibility can contribute to the success of your organization.
I hold a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, a Master’s in International Relations, as well as two postgraduate certificates. One in Rural Project Evaluation, and recently another one in Mental health, gender, and cultural processes interventions with immigrants, minorities, and the socially excluded.
I have experience working in social development programs and in multicultural projects, during the last five years in particular with migrant women. As of 2016, I have also been active as an entrepreneur, setting up my own photography studio, thanks to which I was able to realize the project Women of Almere, which gave visibility and a voice to migrant women in the city where I live (womenofalmere). This experience has given me an even stronger understanding of project management, supporting the teams, administrative tasks, and executing the activities of the projects on time and within budget.
Before moving to the Netherlands with my family, I worked in Guatemala for the Dutch Embassy as a Development Program Assistant. I took care of the archive and administration of the projects as the organization of several international development missions as well as local events. I was lucky enough to be part of a small team giving me the chance to develop experience in multiple fields.
I am skilled in developing and maintaining positive relationships not only with project stakeholders but also with those who form part of the target group. During my whole life, I have also demonstrated my ability to work independently, as well as in teams and I am comfortable adapting to new environments and processes. My native language is Spanish and I speak English well. I also speak Dutch.
In all these years working for international organizations in different countries and with people from different cultural backgrounds, and being a migrant myself in The Netherlands, I have learned how important diversity and inclusivity are.
